~~~~Hey hey time is now~~~~
The
fire crackled high and bright, sparks flying forth filling the dim
light. The warmth on my face, a touch to my soul, a voice from within so
strong, I could not sleep, I could not ignore, that one single voice
that now became a roar.
All over this land ..all over this world, people are gathered in
strength as powerful as the mighty buffalo herd, that roamed the land
with strength and might and gave to the People more than just life....
but spirit and hope and all have gathered, the voices stronger united
together. Clemency now Mr. President, hey hey can you hear, the voices
of so many from all over the world - hey hey Mr. President - clemency
now, the time is right - free Peltier!
The protestors gather, they drum and they pray, they sing ancestral
songs and wait day by day...year by year...for justice to come - hey hey
Mr. President can you hear, the unity of voices - free Peltier!
The time is right for justice to come - to free an innocent man who has
paid more than enough, for a crime he never did commit, his crime was
only in being who he is. In living a life of poverty, of life on a
reservation created by the government we see. A government that took
from our men, the mighty fierce freedom and strength in being an Indian.
But we cannot change the past...hey hey Mr. President, can you hear, the
unity of voices so loud - so clear? It is within your power to undo a
wrong, to free a man who has been shackled too long...hey hey Mr.
President, can you hear, the voices of the people loud and clear, remove
the shackles and free Peltier!
Free Peltier!
Hey hey! Free Peltier!
REMEMBERING ![[grafika]](images/indpera.gif)
Remembering
times of pain, more hurtful than I can explain. A pain so deep I wanted
to lay down, upon our Mother, upon the ground, and breath no more, to
lose this pain, and return to the land of the great divide, hoping for a
peace I seemed unable to find, tired of the fighting, the hatred and
rage, something I could not understand, no reason for it I thought,
except for who I am.
Betrayed too often by those I trust, those I love hurt me the most. My
tears and sorrow brought no relief; my anger only deepened the pain
beneath.
I failed to heed the the voice within which persisted in getting me to
listen.
Here is a lesson for you to learn. Hurt attracts more hurt, anger more
anger, forget these things and think of your heart and the power. The
power of the white burning flame - the power of love that cannot be
restrained. The power of this can defeat all things, that which hurts
more than physical pain.
A cycle of pain and hurt and destruction. A cycle which has divided
nations. A cycle which has caused so much pain to so many, I cannot feed
into it, to give it power, at long last Creator, I hear your answer.
Peace is our only answer. To come together as one power. Love the
strongest weapon of time, it is what will bring us all together again.
I am a warrior. A warrior for peace. No anger within me, no more pain in
my heart, my spirit is stronger, I feel reborn. I have survived the
death of lonliness, sadness, anger and too much pride, to be reborn
again with that burning flame of love, my heart as my guide.
I will stand strong and tall but with dignity, humility and love, most
of all.
Gather together my brothers and sisters - of all nations - we are all
one people, we are all related.
Take my hand in yours. I am willing to reach out. To put aside any
doubt. For our one hope lies only with our unity. One people...one land,
in unity.
Hear Grandfather Eagle overhead? Flying high in the sky - his cry so
loud and powerful? Wings spread embracing us all, let us gather together
and we shall never again fall. For we will be as one, the flame in our
hearts burning brighter and brighter, more powerful than any weapon man
made, the power of a people, Spirit created and Grandfather loved all he
made.
